Google TV vs Apple TV

Google TV vs Apple TV

The Revolution is now televised. With Google TV you can search and watch cable, satellite and web content via your tv set or set-top boxes.

You know that Apple stoked the market with its launch of Apple TV - which acts an integrator of content from other devices. However, Google TV goes a step further and allows integration of the web with TV, allowing search over TV.

Google is hurdling toward its fall release for its  service, which aims to blend Web and television consumption in a tidy package that includes a Logitech Revue set-top box with remote control or an Android-enabled TV from Sony.

Google TV is plans to stream content from ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC and is currently holding negotiations with major Hollywood studios to allow the streaming of movies on Youtube on pay-per-view basis.

Currently, Google TV has partnered with Turner Broadcasting, NBC Universal, HBO and NBA to broadcast their content on Google TV. It has also partnered with NetFlix and Amazon to deliver content-on-demand.

Google TV is also working with USA Today, New York Times and sites like VEVO, Pandora and Napster and Twitter to modulate their offering to compliment Google TV.
