What was once tagged a vile lie has now become a shocking truth as Roberto Alomar's wife has accused the former baseball star of having unprotected sex with her despite knowing that he is HIV-positive

In divorce papers filed in by his wife, Maria Del Pilar Rivera Alomar in divorce papers knew that he was HIV-positive and still engaged in unprotected sex without informing her.


The lawsuit is the second in two years to accuse Alomar of having unprotected sex while knowingly carrying the virus.

A former girlfriend, Ilya Dall, filed a similar $15 million lawsuit in February 2009 against Roberto Alomar accusing the former major league All Star of having unprotected sex with her over the course of four years.

Maria, Roberto's then-girlfriend, defended him at the time, calling Dall's lawsuit "a vile lie."
