Jeffrey Landrigan
Jeffrey Landrigan escaped from an Oklahoma prison in 1989 then murdered and Arizona man after robbing him at gunpoint.
On Tuesday night, after a long awaiting death sentence, Jeffrey Landrigan was executed. His last words were "Boomer Sooner" - a popular rally cry for the Oklahoma Sooners.
The University of Oklahoma features 19 varsity sports teams. Both men's and women's teams are called the Sooners, a nickname given to the early participants in the land rushes which initially opened the Oklahoma Indian Territory to non-native settlement.
Landrigan, though executed in Arizona, hailed from Bartlesville, Oklahoma and was obviously a fan of the Sooners.
